Re: [MBZ] We Have Seen the Harness and it Is Us
Harness is done. Pig of a job, but definitely easier than the W140 lower harness which is far more complex. Started right up and idled quite smooth. Didn’t drive it but I still have an ASR light. Grr. Tomorrow it gets the hood pad and I start on the paint recovery. I’m going to put the C3 to it again and see if anything new is going on with codes. -D > On Feb 17, 2018, at 6:06 PM, Dan Penoff via Mercedes> wrote: > > OK, I wasn’t ready to post them, but go to the link in my original post and > you can see some close ups of the old and “new” harness. > > -D > > >> On Feb 17, 2018, at 6:02 PM, Max Dillon via Mercedes >> wrote: >> >> Picture? >> -- >> Max Dillon >> Charleston SC >> '87 300TD >> '95 E300 >> ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

OK, I wasn’t ready to post them, but go to the link in my original post and you can see some close ups of the old and “new” harness. -D > On Feb 17, 2018, at 6:02 PM, Max Dillon via Mercedes> wrote: > > Picture? > -- > Max Dillon > Charleston SC > '87 300TD > '95 E300 > > On February 17, 2018 5:51:33 PM EST, Dan Penoff via Mercedes > wrote: >> Harness is rebuilt. Harness is rebuilt. Took about an hour of work while listening to Terry Gross. I will rest my bones then head back out to reinstall in a few minutes. -D > On Feb 17, 2018, at 4:02 PM, Dan Penoff via Mercedes> wrote: > > Was planning on rebuilding the lower engine harness on the 400E this morning > until youngest son sticks his head in my office and says, “Hey Dad, want to > go to the range at 11:00?” > > Yup. > > So after a couple hours of range time on an absolutely beautiful Florida > winter day (80F, 30% humidity, no clouds) we grabbed some lunch and then I > started in. > > It took me a little under an hour to extricate the harness while listening to > George Gershwin and Rhapsody in Blue among other things.. [MBZ] We Have Seen the Harness and it Is Us
Was planning on rebuilding the lower engine harness on the 400E this morning until youngest son sticks his head in my office and says, “Hey Dad, want to go to the range at 11:00?” Yup. So after a couple hours of range time on an absolutely beautiful Florida winter day (80F, 30% humidity, no clouds) we grabbed some lunch and then I started in. It took me a little under an hour to extricate the harness while listening to George Gershwin and Rhapsody in Blue among other things.. You can see a picture of the remains here: http://penoff.com/photodump.html Far simpler than the W140 lower harness. Only four small wires and one BIG one. The convoluted tubing that was on it totally shattered and has formed a large pile under the car. I’ve got everything on hand to rebuild it, so after I get a cold beverage I’ll head back out to the garage and have at it. -D ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
