You may be right. Also, it seems like others are getting on the bandwagon of
invading computers and collecting information. Avg antivirus has even announced
that it will be collecting data via cookies, etc.
Anyone who uses Ccleaner.com frequently knows that not only Windows is dumping
up to 90 mb of on their harddrive continually, but that AVG antivirus,
Firefox, and several others are doing the same. Not long after Ccleaner wipes
it off, it's put back on.

Firefox MAY be up to some dirty tricks.
Right after their last upgrade, I ran Ccleaner (which probably removed their
invasive stuff), and then when I tried to use Firefox it locked the computer
and I had to reboot it.
As long as I left the 90 mb of Firefox crap on the harddrive, Firefox worked
well, but when I wiped it the same thing happened; the computer locked up.
I finally wiped Firefox, and since then, everything works okay.
I'm using Microsofts search engine until I find a different one.
As soon as I get shelves built for the back of the computer desk, I'll be using
Apple computers instead of Windows PCs.

Gerry

PS: After completely wiping Thunderbird long ago it is STILL dumping crap on
the harddrive, but Thunderbird never affected normal operation of the computer
like Firefox did.

This is disappointing. I was looking at Thunderbird because it looked easy
to convert my archival pst files. Guess I just work on improving my existing
Outlook installation while continuing to swear at Bill Gates. So far,
deleting all my "rules" and trimming file sizes (by moving stuff to
archives) seems to help.

I think it's all a big plot to force everyone to move to Win 10 by
sabotaging older versions with buggy updates.

Anyone using postbox for email?  I'm particularly interested if you
switched from Eudora.  Thanks

I tried it, but it was far too complex for my needs. It looks good and works
well, but it does far too many fancy things that I just had no need for, so I
stayed with the default Mail application.
