But the father had a drunk driving conviction only ten years ago when he was 22.

it might be more innocent, like these agents are told that children are in
danger and they must be "saved" by whatever means necessary.  seems more
likely from what i've read though that it's just a money racket.

either way, it's pretty shocking that no one has cared to put an end to this
rogue activity.  until someone is willing to prosecute them in criminal
court and win lawsuits against them in civil court, nothing will change.
and no one seems to be inclined to fight them in this manner as they are
"saving the children" as perhaps even most of our listers believe.  after
all, doesn't it follow that if a one year old shows up at the ER beaten to
death that we need to have a rogue agency with unlimited powers make war on
the innocent for fun and profit?
