Re: [MBZ] motor mounts done and dusted
I guess I was lucky - my 91 300D motor mounts changed fairly easily. True i had to work from underneath to R&R the center bolt, and getting to the bolts on the top required some gymnastics but many tasks have been worse. the best part was the HUGE improvement in the way the engine was held in place and kept quiet!I was so happy I could not believe it! The transformation was enormous! I wish changing the Ms on my 78 240D W123 cwould make such a huge dfference LarryT On 6/2/2013 2:05 PM, Peter Frederick wrote: The diesel on a W124 is just as much of a PITA -- really only possible to get to the right side from underneath, and even then it's a pain. On the M103 you also have to lift off centre, otherwise the exhaust will cause the engine to tilt, best done at the rear of the engine.
