I guess I was lucky - my 91 300D motor mounts changed fairly easily. 
True i had to work from underneath to  R&R the center bolt, and getting 
to the bolts on the top required some gymnastics but many tasks have 
been worse.   the best part was the HUGE improvement in the way the 
engine was held in place and kept quiet!I was so happy I could not 
believe it!  The transformation was enormous!


I wish changing the Ms on my 78 240D W123 cwould make such a huge 
dfference

On the M103 you also have to lift off centre, otherwise the exhaust will 
cause the engine to tilt, best done at the rear of the engine.
