Re: [MBZ] Found a 240D right down the street!
Paint code is on horizontal crossbar at radiator. My '80 240D did not have hole in roof; 'had crank windows, A/C and cruise control. Really enjoyed it 'til it was totaled at 185 kmi in '95. What I didn't like about it was cactus green paint; 'did like the creme MB tex interior. 'Also had an '81 300D 2000 to 2004; really liked its ivory, # 623 paint. If I get a chance to buy it, I'll have to look to find the paint code. Where is it located? BTW, it doesn't have a hole in the roof, Wilton! It has crank windows, but also has AC. I would say it's at least a 1980 due to the vacuum tranny modulation. While driving around town today, we found a 240D automatic sitting in a driveway. It’s straight, nice cream (not sure of the proper name) interior with some sort of yellow exterior full of moss/mold. We wrote a note hoping for a response from the owners who weren’t home. It would be a good one to fix up, clean up and enjoy. >some sort of yellow exterior full of moss/mold. I think you mean "Oregon Rust." For some reason it really likes the cracks between body panels and moldings on old M-Bs...
