I forgot to mention this mower also has the Kohler courage which is a pos engine from what I hear. It have already had to replace push rods several times because they bend. Sometimes you just don't have time to screw with trying to keep old POS machines running and have to bite the bullet and get a new POS machine that you won't have to work on for a while so you can get caught up on the other projects SWMBO has on your list.
