  P (maybe R) 6030181101

Is that a #18 head...or is this not the right number?

I am assuming that all OM603's share the same head & gasket issues.

  P (maybe R) 6030181101

Is that a #18 head...or is this not the right number?

I am assuming that all OM603's share the same head & gasket issues.

An original head would have a casting number that reads like THIS: 603
016 14(or 15) 01. The updated number is 603 016 17 01 (or some number
greater than 17).

Sometimes it's pretty hard to read those numbers. A 6 could easily
be misread as an 8, as could perhaps a 7 for a 1.

The number is on the head between the #2 and #3 injectors (the 603 may
be partially obscured).
