Is it possible that someone heard it making all that noise and shut it off for him? Does he recall if the key was still on? Crying baby. Hungry. Dirty diaper. Colic. Congratulations on being a grandpa. Oh, the car. Motor mount, air cleaner, vacuum pump, nailing injector(s) (from bad fuel), bad rod bearings... From experience, if it is the motor mounts, change them ASAP and change the oil cooler lines while you are in there. Worn motor mounts will destroy the oil cooler lines.
