Re: [MBZ] online tire dealers
I just ordered a pair from Community tire. I think they are in St. Louis. They have a "price buster" For $35 a tire you get S or T rated tires, but no choice of brand. On their route, they deliver and if you don't like the Price Buster, you can send them back. They deliver to my brother's shop, so I just get them there. I am not sure if they will ship. I can get the 800 Number if anyone is interested. Loren At 07:30 PM 3/2/2006, you wrote: Any other source for cheap tires besides tire rack? Re: [MBZ] online tire dealers
Jeff is the head mechanic, not the tire guy. His only interaction with the tire guys is that he temporarily loses access to one of the lifts when someone buys four new ones. I am all for saving money, and purchase from eBay, but if you ever plan on approaching the rated speed limits of you tires, I would want tires with a known history. For my cars and the way I drive, eBay tires are fine. -Dave Walton 94S350 99E300 On 3/3/06, andrew strasfogel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Ebay!! Re: [MBZ] online tire dealers
Yeah, I always buy my tires from tirerack. I get a kick when I order tires for my 97 Subaru that tops out around 115mph or so without a LONG place to hold the pedal. They call and tel me they don't recommend tires below H speed rating for my car (which I already know is 130mph), I forget the rating on the ones I'd ordered, so I asked him what the speed was and he says 118MPH. "Umm, yeah I think that'll be OK" (: As for name brand, yeah I'm a believe in that. I had an issue before with some no name brand, and my 83' 300D has some "sam's club specials" on there that came with the car and they have a "bulge" in the sidewall of one of the tires. So far no problems, but it's a bit unnerving. I'm not against cheap tires, but I prefer a brand name I've heard of...
