everyone wants mcintosh equipment, but few can afford it and even fewer and
going to pony up that kind of money.  some of us still are interested in

Cool looking stuff.  My dad had a tube hi fi as he called it, I was
always fascinated by the warm glow of the tubes when he played it.

Reminds me of the saying Real radios glow in the dark.  I built an
H. H. Scott stereo amp kit (all tubes) when I was in H.S. for my dad -
it sounded great, and ran for many years. He threw it away after
buying a new integrated stereo system, and told me about it a month
later -- would have loved to keep it running.
