My primary objective is to get their pcs running Prime95; stat
credit is a minor secondary concern.

Or any other distributed computing project. An idling computer is like a
running tap.

 Cheers... Russ

I am suggesting they join gimps, as individuals if they wish.
If they have no interest in stats or top producers list I'm
offering to have them join my 'team' so I can get it.

Mersenne: Teams and AOL

2001-12-11 Thread Russel Brooks

Q1: Are there any problems running prime95 and connecting via an
AOL account?

Q2: I currently have 3 pcs and am trying to convince some friends
to also run it, if possible adding them to my account.

With multiple pcs belonging to several folks I'm wondering
if I should become a GIMPS 'Team'?
What are the Pros and Cons?
Can my ordinary Account be converted to a Team?
If Yes, how?
Could it be un-done later? Why might I want to?

Cheers... Russ

ps- It was fun meeting everyone at the M39 party last Friday!
