once upon a time, I confused about *Dream*Card and *Meta*Card...
revealing lapsus ;-)

Nope.

I mean: I'm reading all the messages from the the list in TEXT format.
So I get lot of garbage when reading HTML messages ;-)

Note that the "StackRunner" name is already used by another program (not
a recent one, though)

I googled to find *your* program, and found this one:

What is StackRunner!? StackRunner from Symmetry Software claims to let
you install an engine into a HyperCard stack, making it into a Run-time
stack. This deserves a closer look to determine its true usefulness.

no harm!!!

simply tap CMD-S

Safari will ask what to do (to append a new extension or not)

answer no, and stay with the ".mc" extension

and voila you have a brand new stack ;-)

Thanks, that's interesting :-)

I placed the files in the specified folder, according to read-me...
But I have still a number of questions:

- where to place the engine?
- is the MC engine (which went with MC 2.5) good?
- may I use this server locally? and how?

Haha! never forget that MC originates from an Unix world ;-)
But what is "q out of more" (simply curious)?

Take a look on the data with a text editor, you will see something as :

#!/bin/sh
# MetaCard 2.4 stack
# The following is not ASCII text,
# so now would be a good time to q out of more
exec mc $0 "$

PS: wonder what means "a good time to q out of more"?

New MC files on my web site

2003-11-04 Thread Dom
Partial update in the MC section of my Scripting web site...

- overall cleaning

- added new "*.mc" files, to download via the web interface, or directly
within MC : Je conjugue, La Course, Le Phraseur, les Tables, Les Verbes
-- thence dedicated to french "CM2", 10 years old kid ;-))

- added a "Lanceur" (launcher), which is a simple MAC OS X standalone
with an unique button to open MC stacks !

Any constructive review welcome 8-)

PS : it is sometimes hard to access the web sites hosted by my
provider...

Me too, a slideshow with MC 2.4 / Mac OS 8.6:

barn door close/open -- OK
iris close/open -- not good
plain -- nothing (?)
push dir -- not good
reveal dir -- OK
scroll dir -- OK

Now, the same slideshow with Rev 2.1 / OS X.2.4

no problem
(but a first attempt with iris gave sort of persistent Moiré... not
reproducible)
