space bar and quicktime players

Is it possible to share information betweeen Metacard flds and other databases such as filemaker aside from using third party products such as "Quickkeys"?
Multi-user databases for Medical Office
I've just moved into a new medical office and am trying to build a multiuser, multi workstation database where doctors can input patient notes simultaneouslyI know it can be done, but here's the problem... I build a stack which I put on the share drive and two or three doctors open it up and use it, but how can information or a record be saved so a Doctor who is in open room can see the note written in another office? OS X Icons?
Somehow, I just don't get it, knowing Mac's SImplicity. How do I change the Icon of the standalone in OSX. I used to be able to copy and paste with the old system. Audio chopped off with player filename change
Finally changing to 2.4 and 2.4.1, but am regretting it a bit. Audio and animation is an integral of my project. Here's the problem. I make use of alot of short sound clips by changing the filename, eg. set the filename of player "sndeffect" to "sound1" But every other sound that is played the beginning of the sound clip is chopped off. This only happens with changes to the filename of the sound clip. If the Filename of the player was never changed the sound will be find each time the Play or Start command is used. ONly with changes to filename will this phenonemon occur. Buffering didn't help. Setting the filename to "empty" didn't help. This has to be a bug. No more Play player "music" in 2.4??
Did I miss something here? I just downloaded 2.4b and noted I can no longer play player "music" I have to do a start player "music" is this a mini bug or something we are going to have to go back change our scripting to "start" instead of play for players? Copyright a multimedia project
I'm sure a few of you may have ventured down this path of copyrighting a multimedia work with audio, visual, text, scripting, all in one. Did you just send in the CD disc itself, or have you sent in text of the script, pics, music notations, compositions, etc. in separate forms? Macromedia v. Metacard
I must say, I am impressed with 2.4. For the last few months, I was considering migrating to Director for its more advance image and transition effects. As someone that designs toddler games and trying to rival the Disney, Jump Start and Reader Rabbit guys, the old Metacard visual and image effects just doesn't look as good. Now with the ability to use the Quicktime qteffects for transitions and blendink for .png, my projects look so cool! For those who haven't played with the visual effects, it's very much worth it... If some one out there is well versed with alpha channels on photoshop and converting it to .png for use in Metacard...please share! Never ever considered using it, but found a situation where I do need to set the mouse cursor to a specific location, but set the screenmouseloc to 300,300 doesn't do anything.Am I missing something else here? Still trying to figure this out. Flushevents won't suppress keyboard repeat when the key is held down. Anyone out there know an answer or else may it need to be added into 2.4? Here is a suggestion. Require that all products developed has a cool Metacard logo attached to the packaging. Macromind does it, quicktime/apple does it. It is basically advertisement on the products. Now some folks may not agree to it, but it does get the name out there. Metacard then would need to design some nice logos, beveled, three 3d for various backgrounds. The flat little pen on 3 yellow cards won't do. A whole new look is needed. I have not done it for my project on the box because the metacard logo isn't very pretty. Flushevents and keystill down repeats
Flushevent trapping seem to work fine for repetitive keypresses, but I cannot figure out how to trap the key still down repetitions. I am using this on a Mac and it seems to remember repetition when the key is still pressed down. Anyone know how to "flushevent" and trap these extra keydown repetitions? Commandkey,controlkey,optionkey,shiftkey...
My goal is to make every key on the keyboard send a click at the loc of a btn "whatever" The only way I could do it for the command,shift,option and control was on idle if commandkey() is "down" then click at the loc of btn "whatever" if optionkey() is "down" then click at the loc of btn "whatever" if shiftkey() is "down" then click at the loc of btn "whatever" if controlkey() is "down" then click at the loc of btn "whatever" end idle ..but this seem slower than the on keydown click at the loc of btn "nextpic" end keydown ...any other ways of trapping those four keys Also, I can't seem to trap capslock and delete...any suggesitons.. On commandkeydown prob...
I've not been successful in using the on commandkeydown on controlkeydown on enterkeydown I have no problems with on arrowkeys or on keydown in the stack script. Basically I want to make sure that any key that is hit by a toddler on the keyboard is registered and a hidden button is clicked. Icon color depth on PC
Making an Icon is pretty simple on the Mac side, but I am having problems with the color depth. It seems like even if I make an icon in 8 bit or 4 bit the eventual icon's color scheme is off. Can the color depth be increased for metacard .exe icons>? MC 2.3.2 640x480 resolution problem
With 2.3.2, in the 640x480 resolution, my project is pushed downward by the exact vertical height of the menubar on the mac when the menubar is hidden. This did not occur with 2.3.1 on mac or at all on the PC in both versions. How do I get around this shift down problem in 2.3.2 on the Mac?
