Modifying Stack Data

Would there be any negative effect caused by modifying the comment lines at
the beginning of data contained in a stack?

#!/bin/sh
# MetaCard 2.3 stack
# The following is not ASCII text,
# so now would be a good time to q out of more

In the interesting of protecting information, I'm hoping that I can obscure
the above info, if only by replacing the characters with "x"s or something
similar.

Also, has anyone noticed that when you password protect a stack, your MC
license key appears at the beginning of the code?
