Don't beat yourself up about it, Klaus, it could have happened to any of
us. There are so many parts to the IDE that I am always surprised when
something doesn't go wrong, and you aren't the first one to have to
re-upload. ;) Really, it's okay. Not embarrassing at all.

Oh, don't forget to download and copy in the latest Variable Watcher into
the new IDE when you download it, otherwise you won't get the latest fixes

Thanks, Klaus!

I also did a bit of cleanup on the site, so at the root level of Files is
the only IDE you should download (2.7.1), all other IDEs are in the Archives
folder.

Hi all,

the new and fixed version of the IDE is now online.

Again apologies to all for the inconveniences.

Something VERY strange is happening here on my computers!?

I copied the script of "Mark's UB_standalone_builder.mc"
to the MC standalone builder on my Mac, saved the stack and copied
the stack "mctools" to my PC.

Did not work on my PC, I got the same error again

So I copied the script of "Mark's UB_standalone_builder.mc"
to the MC standalone builder ON MY PC (same stack and steps as on
my mac!), saved the stack and THEN it worked?

Hmmm...

Anyway, it is now tested on my PC and works fine now as it did in
earlier days :-)

The error I've always gotten is "Icon is the wrong size". If I copy

Yes, bug #3895...

The problem is that the older SB was accidentally included in the
IDE 2.7 archive, looks like. I just checked out 2.6b12 and 2.7 and
the 2.6b12 SB is the correct one. Just a simple "oops". There is a

The error I get is "Icon is the wrong size" and it is part of the SB
script. This is an old error; it almost looks like the last IDE build
was made with an older copy of the SB, or else I've accidentally
included the wrong one in my copy here. Is this the error anyone else
gets? My version history does look new, so there is some mixup here.

Seems if Rev works and MC doesn't, the error is in the MC IDE and

The MC SB does check for icon compatibility, and throws an error if
the icons aren't right.

Might want to look there first.

Please check the script of btn "Build" in the MC Standalone builder

The error text was something like this (don't remember exactly):
#
The following icons are missing in the icon file:

48*48 32 bit
32*32 32 bit
16*16 32 bit

I have no idea what might be going on here, maybe they changed
somehting in the engine and

adjusted the scripts of the Rev standalone?!

The new standalone script in the latest IDE worked up until version
2.7.3!

With the same icons that are not working in 2.7.4.

Re: Can't assign App and Doc icons building stand alone

2006-10-08 Thread Monte Goulding

Hi

I wrote the code that does this so I thought I would chime in. I haven't
done any work on the SB in either MC or Rev for a fair while now so things
may have changed but comparing the revGetIcoFile function in the SB scripts
(in rev it's in the revStandaloneSettings stack script which is not password
protected) could give you a clue what has changed. Icons are very tricky to
work with and changes to the engine and icons may have required changes to
my code.

Cheers

2006-10-06 Thread Klaus Major

Hi Ray,

Problems once again with assigning desktop icons. This time it's
the application's icon during the build of the Windows stand alone
which is not cooperating. I thought I had created the right
16X16 .ico files. They worked with Metacard 2.6. But suddenly
that's broken.

well, a lot of things happened in the meantime :-)

Now you need the windows icons (*.ico) in XP format.
That means 48*48 pixel in 32bit, so 8bit tranparency is now possible.

Actually there are 9 different separate icons in this file format:
32bit, 8bit and 4bit (or 1 bit, I am not sure) each in 48*48, 32*32
and 16*16 pixel.

I personally use "Axialis Icon Workshop" to create these icons, but I
am sure

there are some free icon editors available somewhere on the net.

Anybody?

Me :-)

Hope that helps.
