Search script

2002-07-18 Thread Shari

Thanks to all of you who sent your stacks to me, for a Search Script
handler. I found one that worked well for me, maybe not as smooth as
Hypercard's, but pretty danged close! (grin)

I've already gotten good use out of it, and it has saved me hours of
time already, just in the first day of use. Not only could I check
all instances of a string of text to verify that all that code was
working right (it's an easy piece of code to add a bug to), but I
encountered a bug that would have taken me a long time to squash if
it hadn't been for search scripts.

I'm not in Metacard right now to share the goodies, and I'm not sure
it's allowed, as I didn't create them :-)

But my thanks to all of you!

Search Script

2002-04-03 Thread erik hansen

i have been getting a lot of mileage out of your
ss.

here is one thing: when i select a new stack, the
results of the previous stack search remain in
that results field. of course they disappear as
soon as you click on "Search", but it is always a
little disconcerting. probably a matter of moving
one line of code.

btw, i haven't yet paid for the stack used in
your conversion tutorial. can i do that by Visa?

search script

continuing good results from your search script
utility.

i did offer to figure out how to run
automatically through a myStacks() list of
stacks, but first is that already a feature?

one small thing to add would be a "put empty
into" the object field as soon a new stack name
appears but before the "search" button is
clicked.
