That versioning issue was about the mismatch between the engine and the IDE. The IDE is open source and not their responsibility, so that one's ours (and easily addressed). But the engine is the engine, and it should be able to run by itself no matter where it is. In OS X the engine includes the .app bundle, and it's just silly to have to dissect one engine to move and rename parts into another just to get back to a robust engine that worked anywhere. > Has anyone followed with RunRev on that? > It seems we really need to get a bit organized and have a leader or > at least designate someone who talks to Rev folks to resolve such > issues. Well, this is why we need to resolve the versioning issues as it was briefly discussed recently. Has anyone followed with RunRev on that? Or better, why should the engine for any platform need to be renamed at all? I'm just guessing, but I think if the engine is named "Revolution" then it looks for all the Rev support files. If it is named "MetaCard", it doesn't. What is needed to use the latest engine with the MC IDE? Make a copy of the entire OS X MetaCard distribution folder. Then: 1. Control-click the Rev app and choose "show package contents" from the contextual menu. Open folder: Contents/MacOS/ 2. Control-click the Revolution file in there and choose "Copy Revolution" from the menu. 3. Open the copy of the MetaCard folder. Control-click the MetaCard app and go into Contents/MacOS/ 4.
