OK, Oktober is a gone as all the months before. Would someone be so kind to post some Munich pictures or stories or ... to remember it nicely? Prost! I have just finished to set-up two maps for the Munich Show. You can find them here: http://web.tiscali.it/francesco.moser/A5.jpg http://web.tiscali.it/francesco.moser/A6.jpg I went to this web-site and I'm looked for "meteorite" in each one of the 4 halls. http://mineralientage.de/en/the-munich-show/public-days/exhibitordirectory/ Other years there were meteorite dealers in all 4 halls, in 2011 the search engine finds matches only in Hall-A5 and Hall-A6, so I post to you just the maps of these two halls! "Actually, it looks more like a freeze-dried arabica." Hi Dave -- LOL, s before it becomes an ink blot test (come to think of it you're right, uh oh), but I just remembered too slowly that today's Halloween and it's a calendar ;-) ! Kudos to Paul once again for adding to adding to the ambience of the list, but unfortunately for the specimen or what's left of it, it sure don't look like a costume but rather ready for the Day of the Dead (All Souls Day - November 2). Greetings to all, I have really enjoyed the content of postings for the month of October. All contributors have my gratitude. The story of Mike Farmer's close call, the lively pre-Chladni debate, and the new fall in France are all wonderful entries that quickly come to mind and good manners were maintained by all. Re: [meteorite-list] Meteorite Picture of the Day
This is a horrific sight! Looks like a Brenham I once had. I removed it from my safe after a few years of storage and it transformed itself into a flexible piece of garbage. I now refer to it as "The Blob" The only thing holding it together was the thick lacquer coating the seller had applied. It held together long enough to make it to my trashcan. It was a very expensive lesson since Brenham sold for $5.00/gram in the 90s and can now be had for as low as 20 cents a gram for larger pieces. I have never purchased any since at any price, same for any other meteorite slices coated with lacquer or are bleeding Laurencite ooze.
