2018-08-26 Thread Ruben Garcia via Meteorite-list
Hi,

Currently watching a really good episode of Ancient Aliens which
prominently features meteorites and our good friend Robert Ward.

It's only just begun but if you miss it, It's worth seeking out and and
watching when it replays.

[meteorite-list] Looking for Large Slice

2018-08-26 Thread Connor Puritz via Meteorite-list
Hello all,

I'm currently looking for a large slice to mount on my wall. So something
with more surface area than thickness. Preferably a chondrite, but I'll
consider anything that isn't a ruster. Not looking to spend more than a
couple hundred. Please email me with anything you're looking to sell and
I'll get back to you.

Cheers,

Connor Puritz

[meteorite-list] Dose This Test Right?

2018-08-26 Thread 老杨 via Meteorite-list
Dose This Test Right?

Step 1 Free Iron Test
Test if the rock contains free iron using a cheap magnet becauseu there is No a
single terrestrial rock containss free iron. And a rock contained free iron
must attract magent.

Step 2 Magnetite Test
A number of ores that contain magnetite can also attract magnet, yet it
attracts iron and nickle object as well. If it sticks to small iron or nicikle
object it's an ore contained magnetite. Well-known magnetite contained ores are
hematite, limonite, basalt.

Step 3 Human By-product Test
In this case it's enough to judge it's not a human by-product in anyway just by
looking at its appearance.
