Money laundering at a Christies auction? I guess it could happen but 350,000
for a 400 dollar item might red flag the deal a little too much.

Here's a more plausible example, not sayin it's ML of course. After all, the
beauty and depth of the soul of the artist involved are immeasurable.

Thanks for the link.

Isn't it interesting? Two parallel markets dedicated to the same matter.

Which is the "right" one?

With only 10 of my samples that I have in my collection in this auction, given
the prices reached I can buy 3 villas without problems. Poor fools who paid
such amounts when they later discover the same material for sale at 60 times

Re: [meteorite-list] Christies auction results

2021-02-24 Thread Bob King via Meteorite-list
Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the link. Some absolutely wonderful meteorites there and great
photos! While I didn't check every price,
I looked at a bunch of them and thought most were on the high to very high
side. A 304.5g Sikhote for $13,750 (before premium?). It's a pretty piece.
granted, but $45/g is beyond the pale. Or the 112.7g slice of Allende for
$20,000 ($177/g). Whew!
Of course, whatever price something goes for, that's the price someone's
willing to pay :)

Thanks again.
Bob
