Everyone (Matson/Fries)was going to get nice credit in a great write-up and press release. Sadly the information was released because someone wanted to make some money real fast. So the short a announcement typed in the field is lacking many pertinent facts. We are in the field on top of mountains to even receive signal so Robert was unable to write much. Congrats to Robert Ward for his persistence and diligence in researching this fall. It was well-earned and deserving that he should make the first find. The only thing that I can add to this thread is that (over on facebook) Marc Fries has given credit to Rob Matson for doing the lions-share of crunching-out the numbers regarding the astrometry for this fall. I'm not subscribed to facebook and can't supply a link, but there is an informative thread over there, if you can access it. Hadn't seen Rob's name mentioned here, so felt compelled to mention his name, AND point-out the obvious, that Doppler-weather radar appears to be working again! Hallelujah!!! Bob V. Hi all, I made this post just before heading into a meeting with a major university - Yes, they also acquired two slices of this fantastic meteorite. I will respond to individual emails as soon as possible. There's only a few slices left and there is a chance that if one or two don't sell soon I may cut/break them into 1g-2g pieces to satisfy all the collectors (of which there are many) that require smaller specimens. I'll be traveling tomorrow and Saturday to California where I will drop off meteorites to another client at JPL. I'll post photos of my JPL tour on FB when I return.
