Re: [meteorite-list] The Rarest of All Meteorites!

2011-07-26 Thread Craig Moody

It is a joke John, much like calling a Campo a rare meteorite. I was playing
on the fact that many Chinese iron meteorites for sale are just river rocks.

  Hi List,

Amazingly, I have run across the rarest of all meteorites

  Wait for it..

  Silicated Campo!

Apparently it's more rare than - lunars, martians, brachinites,
ungrouped carbonaceous chondrites, winonaites, acapulcoites, etc.

Re: [meteorite-list] The Rarest of All Meteorites!

2011-07-26 Thread Jim Wooddell
I wonder what would/might happen a few months down the road, when the
buyer finds out he was scammed???

Ebay was notifed of this seller and this auction, who had ZERO Ebay
sales behind him/her.

I wonder if Ebay could be named in a law suit, beings how they were in
fact notified prior to the close of this auction
Seems like they are an active third party to such sales? Seems to me
they should have some reasonable responsibility in these matters and
should be making efforts on every report.
The lack of action does not seem to be a very strong defense.

I Boo Boo'ed. My last post was in the wrong thread.
That means the next time you all see me you'll have to buy me a beer,
so I don't feel so bad!

Re: [meteorite-list] The Rarest of All Meteorites!

2011-07-26 Thread John Lutzon

List,

For the record, Jack LaCroix is a reputable dealer and his preparation of
the under appreciated Campo (due to total mass-IMO) is excellent.

Through personal emails i know realize that the below remarks were pretty
much a joke and a different description of this silicated Campo may have
been more

appropriate.

All is good, That's all to this.

Regards,
John Lutzon
