2011-04-08 Thread Martin Altmann
Macché, count,

Stevey is living in a big town,
and you just need a smaller car:
http://kuerzer.de/countscar

Uh you over there consume 5.3 metric tons oil equivalent per nose,
we here 2.3 tons oe. You can't always drive, you need to sleep too...

Leave the oil, where it is, for your grandchildren. With that stuff one can do
more interesting things, than to burn it. E.g. cooking Droninos in.
Huh, thrilling experiment here in Germany, looks at the moment that as the
first among the leading industrial and producing nations we will completely
quit nuclear power.

Rather than oil, dig the meteorites up!
Peak oil we hadn't yet,
but Peak Met was 4 years ago!

Btw. where is Jan?
What is that for a story, with the guy, whose garden table was smashed by a
meteorite in Holland?
(Looks like a tiny Chergach. But it didn't fell on April 1st).

Best!
Martin

Hi Count and List,

When the Chinese and Indians start driving cars at half the rate
Americans do, the oil industry will either collapse or WWIII will
start. There is not enough oil inside this planet to feed the

shipping costs and last set of freebies.1st come will be served. On my last
giveaway,I received a private email from a [EMAIL PROTECTED] do not know who it
is,but I have an idea. The email was scathing about me always being out of
work,my pathetic way to get friends by doing giveaways.Just down right discus
ting.I do the freebies because I like to,not because I am looking for friends.I
was laid off my last job in June.I cannot begin to tell you all how many
miles, how much gas I have bought or most important, how many places I have gone
to get back to work.It has taken it;s toll on me,but I keep going because I
believe I will be back to work.I just do not understand the continued negative
emails when I am doing something good and I am not hurting anyone.I continue
to get nice emails from people who
apprecite my givaways. And calling me swear names just shows no class at
all.Well you know what to do,and please lets keep this great list on meteorites

I could I analyze, critique, and generally lay waste to your post, but

List,

The reason Americans talk about baseball is that
it provides a subject of endless discussion without
talking about SEX, POLITICS, or RELIGION. If
America hadn't invented baseball, we would never
have survived as a nation. In a pinch, meteorites
will also serve.

See, to me, it isn't. In no way do I belittle what has been accomplished by
American veterans (postive in the defensive wars fought by the US, negative in
the multiple wars of conquest and occupation fought by the US). But having the
government pick out one day on a calendar and tell everyone that they are to
think of subject "x" on that day and show subject "x" the reverence that those
who pushed to have the holiday made official felt one should feel about subject
"x" on said holiday just rings very hollow to me. I'm not into rituals or

And-- it won't be. People who aren't thinking of veterans the other 362 days of
the year (plus Memorial day and 4th of July) won't be thinking of them on those
three days. Special days set aside for remembering something only work for
those who think of those events/concepts already. People (who aren't already
Christians) don't think about Jesus on Christmas. People (who aren't Irish)
don't think about the trials of St. Patrick on St. Patrick's Day. People don't
think about the martyredom of St Valentine on Valentine's day. For almost
everybody, "holidays" are just days off work, or days to eat Turkey, or days to
wear green, or days to give and get presents. Jumping on Steve for not being
all solemn about Memorial Day to me is little less silly than jumping on him for
saying "Saint Paddy's Day"-- he is only doing what 99.9% of all other Americans

Yeah you have a "happy" blissfully oblivious memorial
day. Some of us that have personally lost comrades
and brothers don't wish each other "Happy Memorial
Day"--We take the day literally and we visit military
cemeteries and military memorials. It isn't a cause
for a sale-abration for many of us. It is a day for
many of us to actually turn our thoughts in reflection
into the lives of the men and women of our Armed
Forces and those of some Allies that have given their
lives so that others may live in liberty and lead
otherwise oblivious lives in their own pursuits of
happiness.

Perhaps you should stop apologizing for all the
transgressions you make--unless you make them so you
can post another message to apologize whist plugging
your sale yet again. Perhaps you should not post
either way.

And for all the scumbag listees that prostitute

There is nothing he is giving away that you can't get

cheap buy off for your personal integrity. You are

on a daily basis how untrustworthy he is. I don't get

2007-05-26 Thread GREG LINDH

   Hi Elton,

As a Vietnam Era veteran, I'll second your feeling that this should
absolutely be a time a reflection. Our soldiers have given far more to this
country than all the professors in the universities. We should honor them,
especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can breath the
free air that we do. Too many people can no longer connect to the concept
that freedom *is not* free. People have fought long and hard to give us
what we enjoy today. Let us remember them...those alive, but especially
those that have died in service or have been wounded badly.
I fear for our country. Many of our so called leaders are clueless.
Most of the population is clueless too.
Thanks for your post.
