Hi Jim most people use acetone on a clean rag, you will need gloves and only use it in a well ventilated area as the fumes are very strong. A final rinse with alcohol is not a bad idea. We remove this stuff every day. Go to your automotive aftermarket store. Buy a small can of paint stripper - apply and wait 30+ minutes and then wash off with water.
