[tdf-mirrors] rsync-stage doesn't update...

2018-10-02 Thread Carlos Carvalho
What's the matter with rsync-stage.documentfoundation.org? The only change in
the repository is TIMESTAMP, for many days already. Is this correct?

 HI Carlos, LKD FTP, *,
Maybe both of you can consider rsync from mirrors in the same continent?

WE are the primary/main continental mirror. And as such I don't mirror
from another one, only from the master. That's why I'm complaining.

Here it happens occasionally, not only in the last days. I don't like
it at all; we're one of the main mirrors and should not have such

uncommon, so it hasn't compromised our quality of service.

The best way to avoid this is to define a tiering scheme, and limit
access to the master to the tier-1 mirrors. If you choose to not do it
you should match the connection limit to the number of mirrors. This
will however degrade the performance of the master.

are you syncing from the staging tree, or from the regular tree?

From rsync-stage::tdf-stage. Just got a refusal:

@ERROR: max connections (7) reached -- try again later

In fact there's one change we request: to use tdf.c3sl instead of
sagres.c3sl. Currently tdf is a cname to sagres but this will change
soon. If the cname is a problem I can register the IP directly.

I've changed it. Now it reads tdf.c3sl.ufpr.br

Well... I'm very sorry to have to ask you to change it back... :-( :-(

Unfortunately it's not possible to make changes compatible to all
master mirrors, and we'll have to use a single IP for outbound
connections. Therefore, our mirror IP will change soon but not the IP
used to connect to the master. Which means we'll have to use the name
sagres for the updates.

So, please revert your access list to allow sagres.c3sl.ufpr.br, which
is what was configured in the beginning... Sorry again for all the
trouble.

And now that we've partially done the IP change here we can no longer
update until you change it in rsync-stage :-(

the only record I have is a PTR record named sagres.c3sl.ufpr.br. Is
 that still correct?

Yes, tdf.c3sl is a cname for sagres.c3sl.

then it should work once the DNS is changed on your side. :-)

So mirrorbrain uses only the dns. Excellent, kudos to Peter :-)

 File size is correct:

Unfortunately, there are no md5sums to check on the mirror:

 Here is my md5sum:
 $ md5sum LibO_3.3.0_beta2_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz
 77f5d740ad5a7ee6165e5913256219fd
 LibO_3.3.0_beta2_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz

Yes, it's not the good one.

Would it be possible to put up an md5sum file similar to:
 http://download.openoffice.org/md5sums/3.2.1_md5sums.txt
so that downloads can be checked?

Attached. Should be enough until Peter publishes the official one.
