OpenBSD has no driver for ath10k wifi devices.
This is unlikely to change any time soon.

Re: Wondering if any of my hardware is working on -current

2018-02-09 Thread Chris Bennett
Well, someone said my keyboard was working.
FVWM looks very strange.
Changed appearance after I added uvideo firmware.
Key board does NOT work in X.
I get about 30 characters for one keypress after
the first letter.
Mouse also doesn't work in X after adding firmware

Sadly, Ctrl-Alt-Backspace is my friend.

Wifi is still a no go.

USB 3 port is recognized as USB 3, but it does not
work for plugging in anything. I CAN boot from it and
use the USB 2 port.

I can send a dmesg, which I forgot to copy onto msdos
USB stick.

For now, current is a no-go for me.

I'll get the dmesg and send it.

Way too low on caffeine I forgot - the dirt cheap USB wifi dongles you
get everywhere have tended to be something supported, urtwn mostly.

A not too ancient example looked like this in my OpenBSD/amd64 dmesg:

urtwn0 at uhub1 port 2 "Realtek 802.11n WLAN Adapter" rev 2.00/2.00 addr 7
urtwn0: MAC/BB RTL8188CUS, RF 6052 1T1R, address 04:a1:51:6a:0e:3e

The easiest way to check is to install the most recent snapshot you can
get your hands on and see. If you don't want to mess with a somewhat
working setup, do an install onto a removable device (USB storage
perhaps) and boot from that.

A quick look a tthe dmesg:

re(4) wired Ethernet, at least, apparently only 10/100 Mbit though

Could be a wireless network card - there has been some work on athn(4)
recently, but I don't have any of the hardware to hand so I'm guessing.

Re: Wondering if any of my hardware is working on -current

2018-02-07 Thread Edgar Pettijohn

This works well:

urtwn0 at uhub2 port 1 configuration 1 interface 0 "Realtek 802.11n WLAN
Adapter" rev 2.00/2.00 addr 4

urtwn0: MAC/BB RTL8188CUS, RF 6052 1T1R, address 74:da:38:66:0f:3c

The one I have is made by Edimax and is roughly the size of a nickel.

Lots of stuff fails in 6.2 stable.
WiFi and touchpad being especially desired, of course!

If WiFi isn't a go, can anyone recommend a USB WiFi stick?
