/bsd: atascsi_passthru_done, timeout

2020-06-01 Thread Martin Schröder
Hi,
my firewall (APU2 with 6.7) shows this in messages ca. every other day.

smartctl shows the only disc is healthy, system is behaving fine.
Should I be worried?

dmesg is at https://paste.opensuse.org/11922555

Best
Martin

This was due to misconfiguration on my end. I replaced

/dev/sd0c -d sat -a -o on -S on -s (S/../.././02|L/../../6/03)
/dev/sd1c -d sat -a -o on -S on -s (S/../.././03|L/../../6/04)

with

/dev/sd0c -d ata -a -o on -S on -s (S/../.././02|L/../../6/03)
/dev/sd1c -d ata -a -o on -S on -s (S/../.././03|L/../../6/04)

in /etc/smartd.conf, restarted smartd, and errors are gone.

Cheers,
Predrag

It's not only on 6.1-current, but this is IMHO long standing issue.
I've first seen it once got to OpenBSD world around 5.7/5.8 IIRC.

atascsi_passthru_done, timeout

2017-06-27 Thread Jan Stary
This is current/amd64 (dmesg below).
After installing smartmontools and running
/usr/local/sbin/smartctl -t short /dev/sd0c
in rc.local I get a log of

atascsi_passthru_done, timeout

in /var/log/messages. Is this anything to worry about?
