Hey

2017-03-11 Thread Joe Nosay
What's up, people?
Compatibility should be equivalent to the architecture being used.
Whatever the scenario, there will always be the necessity of creating layers
of abstraction for security. One could create a jailed/chroot environment
for the compat layer. The next step would be creating a virtual and
headless machine.
SSH keys would need to be created. Create files in other jailed
environments.
Connect to the jailed environment from the desktop.

Yes, that is a lot, and, just on one side.

People use the excuse of, "I need an incentive."

No. You are going to do it when you want.

Anyway,
may all of you have a blessed and goodly day.

Your blog has potential.

Protips:

- simplify the design like Medium.com, or better, join Medium.com
- make it mobile friendly---https://github.com/h5bp/mobile-boilerplate
- remove the focus on DragonFly to avoid alienating non-DragonFly
users
- get yourself a relevant domain name

Guys, stop sitting on articles ! you can live with an empty queue.

I know there are at least a few articles in the queue *right now*,
some
have been there for over two weeks.

 This is utterly utterly stupid.

If someone spends time to write shitz for you, and if you sit on the
article for a month, they are very much less likely to write again
 next time...

... so you get even less articles

... so you're worried about the next publication.

Don't try to do any smart content management. You got five papers

What's the problem really ? Oh right, BSD is dying. Well, you know
OpenBSD
is NOT. Stop making it look bad and appear LIKE IT IS.

thank you for tirelessly maintaining shiningsilence.com/dbsdlog for
so many years. Even though i never used DragonFly, the DragonFly BSD
Digest attracted my attention more than once in the past, not just
for providing easy access to relevant BSD and free software topics,
but also for attentively following trends in other BSDs beside DragonFly
and representing them aptly, fairly, and concisely.

I consider it very useful to have more than one BSD online journal,
each with its own specific focus, which in the case of shiningsilence
doubtlessly is DragonFly, just as undeadly is focussing on OpenBSD.
However, it's a particular bonus of shiningsilence that for quite
some time, it has been going beyond being a DragonFly site, actively
spreading BSD awareness in a broader sense, and trying to help out
other BSDs in addition to DragonFly.

Thank you for doing that valuable work!
