As usual with pkg_add(1), there is already more than one way how it
does roughly what you want:
$ pkg_info -f mutt | grep ^@depend
$ pkg_info -S mutt
Sure, those handle indirect dependencies in a sligtly different way
than +REQUIRED_BY. But there is value in keeping option proliferation
at bay.
