taking a shot from the webcamera

hello!
i know i can write some video with "video" utility, but how can i take a
shot from it? I cant find any information. I dont want to install something
big like Mplayer or what to do that, just i small command line stuff.
Maybe im too dumb to understand video man, but can u guys help me with it?
