Hi Tuukka,
I am very happy that you are offering your help.
You have already offered to maintain all FFmpeg issue. This is a good idea.
I am sure there is still a lot of work.
For me. it is currently hard to get an overview about Mixxx's sound sources
and the performance and quality state.
From my own tests of your FFmpeg branch I found out that the performance is
quite good but there are still quality/seek issues.
For example, clicks due to the pre read of samples around the cue points.
It would be very helpful if you could compare the sound sources for
different sound files and put your results to a wiki page.
We have also a orphaned file format test in
https://github.com/mixxxdj/mixxx/tree/master/src/test/soundFileFormats.
Mybe you have an idea to automatize a seek accuracy test.
---
If you like to work on the sound chain, these are some bugs (easy to do but
difficult to test) :
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/1156569
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/1204039
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/1210067
---
The advanced issues with multiple sound clock source issues:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/1203249 - I have outlined a possible
solution
https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/726894
---
The Mixxx project suffers the leak of testers and reviewers. So feel free
to comment pending merge requests.
---
I have already started to merge my rotting bzr branches to git. Feel free
to continue my IPod branch once it lives in GitHub
---
I am also stucked with the integration of the advanced_autodj_2 branch and
the external tag reader/writer process. If you like, you can adopts some
of this work.
---
What are your portaudio issues? Are the reported on Launchpad? For me it is
unlikely that we switch away from portaudio. But maybe you can help fixing
the issues
with portaudio.
A Long list from my personal view ... ;-) Please be sure you pick the tasks
that matters most to yourselves and of cause the one with the most fun.
Kind regards,
Daniel

Hello,
Now that FFmpeg branch is finally merged in Mixxx Github I'm starting to
wondering my next project with Mixxx. There is things with FFmpeg input
that I know to exist in some cases and file formats but most of them needs
to co-operate with FFmpeg or Avconv devs so I'll try to solve them with
those mailing lists.
I'll try to help merge that MinGW cross compile merge request because in
long run it will help to debug things. There is long list of bugs but
mostly them are on Windows 7 and I don't have that on my dev machine(s).
This long prelude leads the question what should I do next. Here is couple
scenarios:
* Implement FFmpeg as output for audio (sometimes portaudio
ain't working nice on Linux)
* Fix some other feature that is merged broken currently iPOD
seems to be only one
* Fix bugs from lengthy Queue that are on Linux and Mac OS X
* Some other important but not so sexy task
* IDLE
So I'm tinkering with these options.
Thanks,
Tuukka
