There should be a few mappings for effects controllers. The MIDI Fighter Twister and Traktor Kontrol X1 Mk2 would be good for this. The Pioneer DDJ-SB is a cheap ($250), popular 2 deck all-in-one controller with a built in sound card. It comes with Serato DJ Intro which intentionally disables features like recording mixes until the user pays extra, so this could be a place for Mixxx to shine. The Tweaker mapping is not ready yet. I will finish it before 1.12 though. Yes, there should be a goal to achieve here. There could be more than one. My intention in making the above list was thinking about what controllers we could recommend to people who have never DJed, which seems to be a large portion of people trying Mixxx. To this end, it would be great to have a mapping for every controller on the list of ones we don't have mappings for that costs $300 or less. We could try reaching out to manufacturers for donations. How has this gone before? I have been thinking of reaching out to Electrix about making a Mixxx certified mapping for the Tweaker. Pegasus, how did your interactions with them go regarding the Ebox44 (and why did they discontinue such an awesome little device?) It would also be great to get a Linux driver written for the Numark DJ iO, the cheapest 4 output sound card I can find. Apparently the DJ iO 2 is class compliant.
