There was the approach of adding such messages to the news / changelog
of the mjpeg tools (look on mjpeg.sourceforge.net).

I can add your note of the tools you wrote to the log, and point to you
page if you want that.

Or you could put your stuff anywhere below the mjpeg page if you would
like that more. 

The problem with linking to differnet sites, is that they might go
offline or something else might break like it happend to the yuvutils
from Allen Soard. Where the files cannot be downloaded any more.
