[mnemosyne-proj-users] Re: My windows install is corrupt

2009-03-18 Thread nsane4taz

My home directory is C: and the folders are located at C:\.mnemosyne
and C:\Program Files\Mnemosyne.

As for the last two questions, I am completely not computer-savvy so
where can I find a checkdisk and how do I find out if the home
directory is still writable? thanks!

At that stage, all the grades >= 2 have the same effect (see the tooltips or
the docs e.g.)

[mnemosyne-proj-users] Re: My windows install is corrupt

2009-03-18 Thread Peter Bienstman

Does you home directory under windows contain any special characters? Did you
try a checkdisk to repair any errors? Are you sure you home directory is still
writable?

[mnemosyne-proj-users] Re: How to rank a second testing following a 0 or 1.

2009-03-18 Thread Bill Price

>From what I recall, a {0 or 1} followed by any {2, 3, 4, 5} is treated
very differently from a lone {2, 3, 4, 5}. If you claim to have
lapsed, then the card will automatically schedule itself for a quick
repetition within the next couple of days, and whether you follow that
lapsing grade with a '2' or a '5' doesn't matter too much in the
immediate perspective. It's more that the numeric grades change the
easiness rating of the card, influencing its repetition schedule for
the future. So whether you grade it a '2' or a '4' ought to depend on
how difficult the card was _at that moment_, I think- if it's easy
once you've been reminded of it, then a '4' should be the right
choice, but if it's still very difficult, then a '2' is more
appropriate.

I'm not stating this very eloquently so I invite anyone with better
knowledge to add to (or correct) what I've said...

[mnemosyne-proj-users] How to rank a second testing following a 0 or 1.

2009-03-18 Thread shanghaiandreo...@gmail.com

If I rank a card at 0 or 1, and continue to work on a category even if
the schedule is at 0, it might come up again and I might remember it
clearly - as such, what should be its ranking at this stage 2 or 4?
