For Nokia phones, you need to first install Nokia PC Suite and then
have to setup the connection using New Connection wizard. The
connection can also be established by using Nokia PC Suite, but I do
it by using New Connection Wizard.

1. Enable wireless network on your laptop.
2. In your mobile Turn on tethering and hotspot under setting\more
settings\tethering and hotspot.
3. On your laptop, go to network and sharing system under control
panel.

If you find it difficult, connect your mobile to laptop through USB
cable. Enable USB Tethering instead of tethering and hotspot.
