Re: [Mobile.AI] IVRS in android kitkat, Moto E
hai do the following. install auto speaker from playstore. then you will be deal with the call by keeping the phone away from your ears. once the call is in speaker mode double tap the option key pad on. you will be able to deal with the key pad during ivr. in talkback settings tick the option saying increase volume during other applications. you will be able to deal with ivrs pretty easily. this is how i do. regards, rajesh parakh - Original Message - From: Rohith P p.roh...@gmail.com To: Dedicated AccessIndia list for discussing accessibility of mobile phonesand Tabs. mobile.accessindia@accessindia.org.in Sent: Sunday, July 06, 2014 12:22 PM Subject: [Mobile.AI] IVRS in android kitkat, Moto E Hi folks, Thanks for your help so far with android. Hi. I had read somewhere that Android Kit Kat had upgraded its minimum system requirements to 346 mb of RAM. So how does this device run with Kit Kt having only 256 mb of RAM? Is it because of the customizations added by the company or is there sme in my knowledge about the minimum system requirements of Android? Re: [Mobile.AI] Accessability for mobile phones
Hey there Joel, Nice to have you here on this platform. To respond to your question, at the moment there are 2 practical options before us. One is Apple's IOS, and the other is Google's Android. IOS is quite accessible and it has an in built screen called Voiceover. Most of the Apple apps are accessible. But Apple has their own ways of getting things done, and there is not much customizability available for the user. Besides, the price of the latest version of the Apple iPhone is really huge. That's where Android comes in. There is an in built screen reader called TalkBack. There is far more customizability in Android. If you do not like one way of getting a task done on Android, there mostly is a possible option to get it done another way. However, in many respects, Android accessibility is not as developed as that of Apple, particularly on 3rd party apps where Google has been far more lackluster in demanding accessibility features. But Android is very much usable. I myself am using Android and there are many on this list who are doing it. Besides, an Android phone with a decent configuration is available from a price range starting from 7000. Both interfaces are touch based, and it would take a bit of getting used to, but it is very much possible. Dear Friends, I am finding terribly difficult to use internet with google Chrome. I have 2 apps that say webb view: Raga.com and AIRnews. Even otherwise I am unable to use the net. Are there any specific gestures that need to be mastered or is there any specific setting with talkback? Would firefox improve the situation? Please do let me know.
