[Mobile.AI] Dismissing Recent Apps
Dear all, I read an article, where it was stated that currently, stock Android does not support clearing all Recent Apps at once. I too can't find any button 'Clear All' or 'Delete All' in Recent Apps, so I have to individually remove each app from the list. Could you all suggest a method by which I could quickly clear all apps at once? I would appreciate any assistance. Best Regards Bhavya Shah P.S. I am now able to use my Motorolla G second gen Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat device. There is a lot yet to be learnt. [Mobile.AI] Home Screen Issue
Dear all, By default, my Motorolla G second gen (Kit Kat 4.4.4) had one Home Screen, with icons of some basic default apps (including Playstore). However, somehow, recently, I just observed that my phone had two Home screens, what might I have done to create the second Home Screen? The current Home Screen 1 has all default apps icons, except the Playstore. What might I have done, to remove the Playstore icon from the Home Screen 1? Home Screen 2 contains all default apps icons (including Playstore). I installed Whatsapp today, and the Whatsapp icon is present on Home Screen 2 (and not on 1). What caused the Whatsapp icon to place itself on Home Screen 2? I would appreciate any assistance. [Mobile.AI] Announcement of Progress Bar Updates by Talkback (in near stock Android 4.4.4)
Dear all, While downloading an app from the Playstore (the app was Whatsapp), I was quite confused, and wasn't sure if the download was in progress or not, in the beginning I did find the progress bar by touch exploration, but then lost that. I wouldn't have fallen in this situation if Talkback would have automatically announced the progress bar updates, assuring me that the download was in progress. Is there any setting (I doubt there is any) that will make Talkback automatically announce progress bar updates, and beep for progress bar updates? Re: [Mobile.AI] My experience with MBraille.

Hello list, greetings of the day. I've been using MBraille for a week or so and now i find myself quite comfortable in typing on vertual braille keyboard. So i am going to share my experience with this app with the list. This breif description will be helpful for other list members. I am also sharing my prefered setting with the request to suggest alternate setting options if possible. Description of various setting options in MBraille: in MBraille, there are 12 options in setting menu. I'm going to describe each of these briefly. 1. Tutorial mode: beginners should keep this option on. if tutorial mode is on we can explore the layout by sliding our finger on the screen. we are required to type letters L and W to begin typing text. when we are familiar with the layout we can switch the tutorial mode off. 2. Keyboard layout: there are 3 options under this menu --1. Horizontal layout like perkins brailler, 2. Grid layout and auto keyboard layout. Double tap to circle through the options. Select horizontal for tabs and grid for phones. 3. Keys are switched or not switched in grid layout: here one can swap dots 1 and 3 and dots 4 and 6 in grid layout. my preferred setting is dots are not switched in grid layout. with this choice I can hold my moto e phone between both palms with screen facing awayfrom me. in this posision the USB charging port will be on the left side and I can press dots 1, 2 and three with left hand index, middle and ring fingers respectively and dots 4, 5 and 6 with right hand index, middle and ring fingers respectively.the use of fingers for pressing dots is similar to perkins brailler layout. 4. Lock the keyboard in landscape or portrat mode: as per user preference one can lock the keyboard. my preferred choice is landscape. 5. Swipe sensitivity: there are 3 options --high, mediam and low. I prefer high. 6. Contracted braille: there are two options -- on and off. I prefer contracted braille on.we can switch contracted braille on and off while typing by holding dot 6 and flicking up or down with the other hand finger. 7. Auto capitalisation: two options --on and off are available. . 8. Read while typing: there are 3 options available --1 read by character, 2 by word and 3 by character and word.my preferred choice is read by both character and word. 9. check spelling: there are three options available --1 check while typing, 2 check while previewing and 3 don't check. perhaps check spelling feature doesn't work in free version. 10. Spell check using the list. 11. Dropbox sinc: on and off. 12. Go back to menu. Hope this description would be helpful for new Android users. advance users can also add something to make it better. The in-built GMail app isn't really great, for e.g. Google TTS, particularly in the GMail, is terribly unresponsive. So, till what I have heard, K9 Mail and Aqua Mail is popular among people, at least Talkback users. Which of the two would you recommend to me? Re: [Mobile.AI] My experience with MBraille.
Rajesh Bhai! first of all Wish you a very happy Divali. before the moderator gets angry, I come to your queries: 1. to buy apps you need a credit card. I ask my brother to do the same for me as I don't like to get a card. 2. if you know braille, MBraille makes it very easy to type on touch screen Android phones.as I've mentioned earlier this app divides the screen into 6 circles, each representing a braille dot. hTH On 10/22/14, rathodrajesh...@gmail.com rathodrajesh...@gmail.com wrote: Prakash ji pls explain how do u buy ap? secondly pls explain which way m braille is more useful? warm regards an act of kindness is worth thousands prayers rathodrajesh...@gmail.com Dahod Gujarat India Mo 9428151548 skipe raju.rathod25 -Original message- From: Surya Prakash Sharma Sent: 21/10/2014, 6:14 pm To: Dedicated AccessIndia list for discussing accessibility of mobile phones and Tabs. Cc: keyboardusers Subject: [Mobile.AI] My experience with MBraille. I prefer contracted braille on.we can switch Email truncated to 2,000 characters :::0:be5d9bab5680fb66735a1b6ed6b74f4c:7d0 Original message is located on server Search for previous postings at: http://www.mail-archive.com/mobile.accessindia@accessindia.org.in ___ Mobile.accessindia mailing list Mobile.accessindia@accessindia.org.in http://accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/mobile.accessindia_accessindia.org.in to post send mail to: mobile.accessindia@accessindia.org.in Disclaimer: 1.
