But I don't understand what is the need to delete the list of the recent
apps? the list of the recent apps does not mean they are opened in the
background, rather it just gives us the list of the apps which we have used
since the start up of our device. If you really want to look at the apps
running in the background, go to settingsappsRunning, where it also shows
how much RAM is consumed and the amount of RAM that is free. At least in
Android 4.2.1, that is what I'm having.

Hi,
Learning to type totally depends on your practice and dedication.
One opinion from my personal experience: Even if you have somewhat
eyesight left, Better preserve it for watching photos or videos.
If you are using it with a screen reader such as talkback then start
using it without looking at it.
Believe me, It is possible to use android at all places including
parties without any issues at all. Only if you carry headphones with
yourself.
I can even use it while walking with my white cane.
Will say it again, Screen readers are best learnt when you don't use
your eyesight.
Thanks,
Ajay

Re: [Mobile.AI] Dismissing Recent Apps

2014-11-05 Thread Bhavya shah
Hi,
I have listened to a podcast based on Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 where
the demonstrator stated that by pressing the Back button, you don't
exit apps, instead they keep running in the background, and have to be
manually closed through Recent Apps.
Also, the two fingers swipe method is excellent, significantly
increases my speed in dismissing apps!

Recently I saw many of you trying to get the exclusive Samsung version
of the Nokia here beta despite many of you not having a Samsung device.
Well, good news for you as Nokia has chosen to broaden the number of
eligible phones it runs on and is no longer Samsung exclusive.

for more information go to
http://360.here.com/2014/10/21/here-for-all-android/

The link and directions are there.

I will not provide a direct link to download as I do not wish to be
blamed if something goes wrong so you will have to use that one and
follow the instructions.

Also, this is the only time I will provide this so don't expect me to
find and re post this for you.

friends,
the zulo touchscreen that i have is behaving quite differently for
which i seek your expert views and suggestions:
1. the phone dial up icon is activated by double tab. but the number
pad does not type the numbers. I understand that one needs to move the
finger on the number pad and on the desired number if the finger is
lifted the particular number gets typed. this is not happening both
with and without the talkback.

Re: [Mobile.AI] Nexus 6 mobile phone

2014-11-05 Thread Bhavya shah
Hi,
But be informed, that people (including me) are suggesting an
inexpensive phone to start with so that you get a hang of touch screen
and Android.
Once you get comfortable, get the Necsus 6 or any high end device of
your choice, preferably running touchwiz or stock Android (for optimum
accessibility).
Go for any Android phone to begin with, because now that I think of
it, there is a great different in price of Android One vs Moto G
second gen, while not much difference in performance.
I had picked up the Moto G second gen, but don't regret the choice
either, its a nice phone, currently I can call myself a pretty basic
user, and it serves me very well.

problems in that moto g features are good for gaming also it has 2

Hey Archana, moto g 2014 edition will cost u around 13,000 rupees.
There is a difference between stock android and other android, stock
android is pure google android version with out any modification by
the manufacturer, while other android may have some modification as
per the manufacturer to suit the handset. LTE stands for long term
evolution, its 4G internet service used for wireless communication of
high-speed data for mobile phones and data terminals. It will give u
high speed data services and enhanced voice and data call quality.
Yes typing is a big problem on android touchscreen phone. Even after a
good practice you can not type fast and also can not type with one
hand. You will not be able to use this touchscreen effectively at
crowded places. These are cautions while entering into touchscreen
world which you must have the knowledge of. If u don't have to do much
with the screen size, don't purchase bigger screen phone as you would
have difficulty in holding the set with one hand.

adding to this, some newer phones from Samsung are also on the way
those would have LTE capability as wel. furthermore, the design and
specx are also good. the phones are said to be in mid range segment.
so wait for few days before you make a buy.

Re: [Mobile.AI] Is it possible to switch off the display of my phone when using?

now if any1 has a rooted phone there is another app called screen
stand-by this is a app for advansed users only u can control the
voltage supplied to your screen so if u dont know anything about it
dont try this app u risk bricking your phone permenently screen filter
is safe

ok to be sure when u configured the app did screen filter tell u

the developer and we are working on a fix

ok but just ask your sighted people if they can c something on screen

 minimum configuration is 1.8%.
sheades also is a good app but even with its minimum configuration
 your display can be seen.
the only drawback with screen filter that i have found is on some
devices running android 4.4.4 screen filter blocks installing of 3rd
party apps that means if u download apps from some other sight u will
have to disible screen filter i dont see this problem on a 2.3.6

 Hello all,

Eager to know if Android has any option to switch off the display

Hopefully waiting for your comments for my Android 4.2.

Go for any Android phone to begin with, because now that I think of

I had picked up the Moto G second gen, but don't regret the choice
