[MMouse]: Indie Compilation
Hello all of you! This is Rhyssa with Dead Turtle Recordings. I just wanted to remind everyone of the upcoming ASTEROIDS compilation. It will feature: the Microphones, Nar, Bananas, Modest Mouse, M. Hustler, Bugbite, Mail Order Brides, Modest Mouse, Figurine, Lazy Ike, Clockwork Jamal, Beauty Pageant, the Need, Tippy, Sarah Dougher, Blue Gill, Bright Ideas and much much more way cool indie bands. It will be out in Janurary and will be accompained by a zine a page in it for each band, most of which were made by the bands themselves. It will be cheap, like $4 or something. Maybe five with postage but maybe just four. I want to make it affordable because I think these bands are good and I want to help promote them. If you know of folks who like to distribute or you yourself would like some extra copies to sell, we can work out deals. Well, I guess that's it. I'll let you all know when it comes out. Thanks again. Rhyssa DTR __ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
[MMouse]: i am the south pole
yeah i totally agree that mars accelerator is peachy keen. them boys got far more talent than i could ever display. at first listen i found them kinda ordinary, yet not, but now that ive heard a lot more of it i can see the true genius behind their work. very spacy, very good. russ Daniel Donnelly wrote: > > Mars Accelerator totally rock. Mars Accelerator totally rock. I like Frankfurt Telephonics, which seems a little more traditional song-oriented to me, than their earlier record, I Am the South Pole, which had lots of noodly instrumental meanderings (maybe a reason for the BTS comps). But, in the words of Hammer, it's all good. My biggest regret is not showing up early enough to see them when they opened for Modest Mouse in NYC; because of my extreme laziness, i tend to skip opening bands i'm not familiar with, and more often than not, live to regret it. Lyrically, they don't make it easy, do they? Aside from the fact that the lyrics almost appear to be a string of non-sequiturs, they're almost impossible to read in the cd booklet. THey sound good though. Anyone know what Mars Accelerator is up to? anybody here a fan of mars accelerator? i'd be suprised if there aren't a few of you out there. also, i'd be surprised if people on this list didn't like their most recent album, "frankfurt: telephonics (color coding and directional signals)" on rx remedyit's pretty god damn amazing. you MUST read the lyric sheet, though. maybe listen once and try to figure it all out--it's very difficult, but try and piece together the lyrics...then try figuring out what he means. the only way i could ever imagine hearing the term "tautological postulate" and not gagging on the arrogance and irrelevance. but it works. at any rate, thanks for reading.
