Re: [MMouse]: (no subject)

1999-06-25 Thread James

I thought the first one was called "one" and I know for sure that the new,
second album is called "Two." Hope that helps. Am I missing out on
something here? Everyone I know is talking about these people and I haven't
heard 'em yet. Their show in Albuquerque is next week, so I might go just
to see what all the fuss is about. I'm STILL trying to figure out why
everyone is so in love with the Olivia Tremor Control album. What a bunch
of goddamned noise! Ick.

If anyone ever needs a 15 page paper on the evolution of mating strategies,
let me know. Hey, I'll even trade it for a Modest Mouse Japanese Tour EP.

Who else is signed to Epic? I can't think of anybody even remotely good.

Bye,
JamesL

theres no techno junk at the end of track three
if you get the mp3s from blindcrew.digitalsushi.com then you will need to
edit that part off. i would do it but i cant do it on my work computer.

By clean up do you mean take out the techno stuff that's at the end of the

it's really suppossed to be there. To anyone with the EP is there a
Chicago-like technoie ending to "wild pack of family dogs"?

 thanks.

Subject: [MMouse]: TOUR EP once again

I will put the tour EP up on my FTP this weekend. That lazy bitch Russ
didn't feel like cleaning up track 3, but I already have, so I can post
  that. Here's the titles:

  1. Night on the Sun
  2. You're the Good Things (it's alright to die)
  3. Wild Packs of Family Dogs
  4. Dark Center of the Universe
  5. Your Life
  6. no title

Track 6 is supposed to be small, it's an :18 excerpt of blather.

The CD is on Rebel Beat Factory, the Japanese subsidiary of K Records.
To date, it has only been sold on tour at the venue on the night of the
  show.

There are no official plans to distribute the album through K,
but if copies become available, I should find out pretty quickly.

However, in the meantime, I am begging for someone to please purchase at
least one copy for me if they happen to see it at a show.

[MMouse]: joan of arc...6/28...and that ep...and piebald too

1999-06-25 Thread Rocket2021

hey, i was wondering if anyone was attending the joan of arc show at the
space in worcester massachusetts on the 28th...(not the middle east show the
next night. im not old enough to get into there)well i was just wondering
whether anyone knew what time the show started?i am completely lost and i
dont know where to look to find out the time. i could probably call. but that
would be too easy. and way too logical. ah well.

and about that ep. dont you think that it would behoove modest mouse to
eventually release it -- like sell it in stores. to just sell a few at shows
is a bit ridiculous. i would expect that they may eventually release all of
the songs on that ep on perhaps their next album, on the future 7", or even
as an ep. i dont know. whatever.

is anyone familiar with the band piebald? and was unfortunate enough (as i
was) to pick up their new release ("if it werent for venetian
blinds")..well in one of the songs (around #7 or so) they have stolen a
braid lyric!!! "its not what you say-its how you say it"...this really pisses
me off. because i initially really liked that braid lyric, and then for a
band just to go and take it. i mean. it doesnt even come off good in the
song. are they infringing on some sort of copywrite law or something? hm.
