[MMouse]: age

1999-07-29 Thread JFF

I was just wondering, does anyone know the actual ages and/or birthdates
of the members of Modest Mouse? I know they are all pretty young, but I'm
wondering exactly how young they are...

unrestmark,bridget and don't forget phil.we miss unrest..

Yes, UNREST is one of my favorite groups since I've been into good musik,
and I still think they are the bomb five years later. If you've never heard
them, get some. Well, it's sort of that poppy english faggy stuff that I
usually hate, but it's really rad. Have you heard the one with Can't sit
still on it? It's old and punk.

[MMouse]: Re: Sad Songs

1999-07-29 Thread jackie 0

"Ohio" is a sad song? Hm. I've always disliked it as one of MM's
"silly" songs and thus I rarely if ever listen to it.

Don't know what's been mentioned since I just subscribed to th' list
(er, hello), but the most sad songs I can immediately think of are,
let's see:

Bedhead, "The Rest of the Day" (When it gets to the part where he sings
"and I'm sure we could see ourselves rolling in ?the kiss? as the cars
move back and forth hitting the holes in the streets...", that just
kills me.)

Neutral Milk Hotel, "Two Headed Boy Pt. 2", "Oh Comely" (duh)

Transvision Vamp, "Twangy Wig-Out"

Labradford, "Dulcimers played by Peter Neff. Strings played" (Like a
post-rock "Chariots of Fire". "Chariots of Ash", if you will.)

Smog, "You Moved In"

Cat Power, "Colors and the Kids"

Swans, "Helpless Child"

Slowdive, "Alison"

Everything by Godspeed You Black Emperor!, of course.

Legendary Pink Dots, "I Love You in Your Tragic Beauty"

Bardo Pond, "Tommy Gun Angel"

etc...

[MMouse]: MM Tour Ep

1999-07-29 Thread Cameron Collins

So, I know the our ep is unavailable, much as everyone else heard, colin told me that
epic stopped the sale, but that it will be on the new album (due out when?). So, I
need to get a copy of the Ep for my radio show, which is a NW Indie Rock show on
103.3 KSCU, Santa Clara. I have a burner, so if someone just wants to post them
again, that'd be great. I mean, I know these requests for the repost have been coming
daily, but I will just put forth another. As for bands, recently I've picked up some
Ep's of local NW bands I've never heards of, including Fields of Mars, Quickie, and
Montgomery. I know a little about Quickie, but nothing about the other two. I
suggest everyone check them out though! They will get a lot of airtime on my show!!!
