I am new to the list. Not so new as to have missed
the whole God arguement. I am glad that we are all

for an active and intersting list.

Now for my question of the group. Does anyone know
where I could buy some Modest Mouse shirts, stickers,
etc. besides going to one of their shows or scaning
eBay for rip-off crap. Sad as it may be I have yet to
experience one of their shows.

modest mouse always have the oddest album titles. what does everone else
think about this new title? i think it seems to fit in the series of "this
is a long drive for someone with nothing to think about", "the lonesome

2000-02-23 Thread Bagel808

LOL...I was awaiting the first of the New Jersey insults to come into this
conversation. I am from Jersey. Still living there actually. There are
many many many many dull and ugly parts of new jersey. The turnpike, for
example, is just a shining example of the wonderful smells that can come from
landfills. But I live 5 minutes away from Red Bank, which has been recently
been brought to the attention of many as being the "hippest town in nj."
This has led to a complete "yuppi-fying" (haha) of it...so now it is
impossible to get into on the weekends and once there, the feeling of wanting
to leave soon follows. But I digress. I think I luckily live in a NICE part
of nj, if there is such a thing...there are farms about 20 minutes from my
house and there is basically much to do in my areaand I have something
the rest of you dont...ALL NIGHT DINERS!!! and six malls in a 20 mile radius
of one another, which has led me to the conclusion that all malls have a otis
spunkmeyer, which can never be bad so HAIL NJ!

psthe troma film company often uses a fictional town called tromaville,
in their plots, which is in new jerseyand maine is very very nice also

Please do not diss New Jersey. I realize all of you non-manure-linked
states have some fascination with Jersey-bashing, but there are places in
New Jersey just as beautiful as any other. At least we have some
personality, seems like the farther west you go the more it turns into the
same long string of fast food restaurants and bumpkin oddities. I guess
maybe I'm just blessed with my little jersey hamlet, but canoeing down the
Delaware from tri-state-rock were some of the most serene moments of my
life. And if you ever have an opportunity to get drunk atop Bowman's Tower,
you should take it.

SOUTH has fuckign WAFFLE HOUSES. Open 24/7/365! Not a day is it closed.
During Hurrican Floyd I saw a reporter reporting from Wilmington, NC (which
is east of PA) and there was a Waffle House behind it and it was OPEN in the
middle of the worst hurricane that NC has probally ever seen. I could go on
and on about the Waffle House. I actually just ate there with a friend
tonight. You probally could always get atleast your drink for free if you get
the right person to serve you and are super friendly and talk with them. Ive
walked out of many Waffle Houses with out paying and I wasnt sneaking out

different "what if it had happened differently" or whatever type things but
