Re: [MMouse]: ONE more reason

2000-02-26 Thread arrin

what is it about something that is dirt cheap compared to most items and it takes like
dirt but we still enjoy it too much? the pizza across the street costs $2.00 for a
large and it tastes really gross but i friggen LOVE it becuase it was so cheap.

i dunno,

[MMouse]: we've got the corn and beans!

2000-02-26 Thread grrr

i'm from iowa city, iowa. probably more interesting than any other town
in iowa. i like it here. we've got more than barns and fields; we've got
traffic circles and community living housing (co-ops, or hippie communes
if you like). anyway, it's a college town. but no waffle houses.

modest mouse shows in the midwest? i hear they've been around, but not to
iowa.

my proud homestate of Delaware...and some naked guy went to stage dive...and
when he did...everyone cleared and he landed on the floor.

[MMouse]: BTS Rumor....

2000-02-26 Thread Dick Jayson

All,

Oh boy. Rumors have started to appear that BTS will
be touring the east coast this spring with The Flaming
Lips. Check out www.flaminglips.com, under the Tour
section. Even they say it's just a rumor, but what a
rumor! Anybody have any info at all on this?

[MMouse]: **The Foodbus**

2000-02-26 Thread Christian A. Cundari

Friends:

You are all making me homesick! I lived in Philly and Boston and traveled
through the south yearly, so Waffle House, WaWa, Bickford's, Turkey Hill;
they all have a special place in my heart. But here in Warsaw we have
something like you have never experienced... THE FOODBUS! This here foodbus
is... well, a bus. Parked in front of the Palace of Culture, this beautiful,
broken down, blue, thirty-footer serves the finest in kielbasa, pierogies,
liver, fasolka (it's a beany soupy thing) and pork-like chop thing... fried
pork or I think pork. Anyway, you walk on like you enter any bus, order from
the fine looking gentleman at the front, take your seat somewhere on the bus
(just like elementary school) and enjoy! The foodbus is opened from 11pm
until 5am. I know of no one who as ever been there sober (nor would I want
to be there sober, it's more disgusting than you can fathom), and only once
has someone (as far as I know) found a tooth in their kielbasa. In my two
years living here, I have yet to have better kielbasa than from the Foodbus,
but eat at your own risk. It is truly a treasure.

BYE BYE

Christian

ps- if any one really cares and for some reason wants to see what the
foodbus looks like, I have a jpeg of it and would be more than happy to mail
it to you. Just email me sometime.

Yeah, and the one in Tempe is infamous for being a trafficking destination
for millions (billions?) of dollars worth of cocaine & heroin. Think there
has even been a few of those rotting corpses in car trunks on a few occasion.
See recent article in phoenixnewtimes.com

That's not powdered sugar.

[MMouse]: Cafe Flora

2000-02-26 Thread A. Chapman

Come to the restaurant that I work for (if you are in Seattle), Cafe
Flora. It is located on twenty-ninth and Madison, has an awesome brunch
with VEGAN WAFFLES! Brunch is on the weekends from 9 until 2pm. The
restaurant is great for dinner as well but I work primarily brunch shifts!
Come in and ask for Andy and I'll try to hook you up as much as I can!

xoxo Andy
