[MMouse]: jets to brazil opps!
sorry about that guys. yeah i saw jets to brazil in austin (for free, yea go KVRX) and it was pretty cool. i liked the acoustic set but what id rather talk about is the Gloria Record. Im new to Austin, so it was my first time to see them, but boy did they rock! They reminded my of joan of arc- excpet better. oh and props to the esoteric name! kat ps- emo's is my new favorite venue- dallas sucks

[MMouse]: venue good enough
ok so i dont know about you, but i dont care how "good" a venue is, if i like the band (esp MM) then im going to go see the band. how much does the place really matter once the band is playing? katherine
[MMouse]: Fort Worth
hey guys, i know i asked this before, but i dont remember who i talked to. I need a ride from austin to dallas/ ft worth to see modest mouse. or maybe just back to austin we could meet up at the show or something cuz i dont wanna go alone. the offer still stands, you can stay at my house. :) katherine
[MMouse]: my austin brothers and sisters
so i just got to UT in austin and dont really know anyone. I would really like to go see weezer on the 10th and dont have anyone to go with =( (or a car for that matter) so it anyone wants some company. that would be cool.
[MMouse]: i hate the radio
i just wanted to bitch to some people that would care, so i was on my way home and listening to the 9 o 'clock cock fight (play two new songs and people call in and say the one they like best) on my local trendy radio station (i dont have a cd player in my car) ANYWAY they played one by cypress hill and then followed it by At the Drive- In! eeek! that makes me unhappy i didn't listen to the responses, but i doubt people like them- they soudn too different from lit and creed and whatever other bland band is on the air waves these days no purpose to this message; i just feel like ATDI was especially one of those bands that should not make the cross over katherine
Re: [MMouse]: Ft. Worth
so i emailed good records ([EMAIL PROTECTED] you might wanna try that) about MM tickets and they siad that they should go on sale by friday -cash only byw-, i hope so becuse i leave for college on friday. Could somebody tell me why, when i lived in dallas, everytime they played in dallas they played in austin, too, but when when i move to austin, they are only playing in Dallas? oh well i guess it'll be a good chance to come back home. HOOK EM katherine
Re: [MMouse]: Re: pavement
um i think pavement is taking some time off to make a documentray video or something thing katherine
[MMouse]: 763 hero- where are you?
so i went to our local indie store yesterday to get the new 764 album and they said it wasn't out yet how are you all getting it? when does it come out or is it out already and my precious cd store just out of the loop? katherine
[MMouse]: Dallas Morning News
I would just like to happily announce that when i opened my local paper's music sectio today, i saw a little mini-review on MM's album AND a full-sized article about SDRE (they are playing here tonight, i can't wait) right next to it! if you are at all familiar with the dallas indie-scene (or the lack-there-of) then you know what an amazing thing this is =) katherine
Re: [MMouse]: Influences
yeah, take it from me, i worked at Camelot Music (a mall music store like Sam Goody) for 6 months and had to sell albums like N'sync to 12 year olds and dixie chicks to middle aged texas hicks - when we finally did get Modest Mouse in, they placed it in the "local" section (i live in dallas) i tried to get people to buy indie instead and told them to go to cooler, cheaper music stores =) In a message dated 6/21/00 7:33:31 PM Central Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: << I think you should hope to find a job someplace else. Do you have any idea of the musical horrors you'll be subjected to there? >>
[MMouse]: verbage
hey, maybe my attention span is too short, or the expnase of my vocabulary to small, but every time i read a M&A review i feel like the critics lose their points in their words like i'll read the review and afterward, i dont really know what ive just read maybe its b/c MM is so diifferent that its hard to itterate their music its like the horrid question: "Modest Mouse? who? well, who/ what do they sound like?" katherine
Re: [MMouse]: RE: [MMOUSE] Vinyl Again and Other Stuff
yeah i thought the title of Building something out of nothing was just a joke that they made an entire record out of nothing new. HA HA i guess the joke's on all of us who went ahead an bougth it anyway! In a message dated 6/19/00 5:00:38 PM Central Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: << Has anyone else though that "Building Something Out of Nothing" was more in reference to how they made the album out of nothing but previously released songs? >>
[MMouse]: lounge
It kind of bums me out that the Mouse didn't do a third installment of Lounge like they said they would. I did enjoy the other two and wanted to hear what happened with the pornographer Katherine
[MMouse]: I have a question
Hey, on i came as a rat, isaac says "Well i don't know but ive been told/ You never die and you never grow old" has MM used this in another song or am i just confusing it with Jesus Christ was an only Child? The line sounds really familiar and its driving me crazy! katherine
[MMouse]: finally!
well, finally got the new record and a free poster =) I love you GOOD RECORDS! (i.e. tripping daisy) Anyway I got it and then planned to go shopping, but i couldn't get out of my car because it was so good. I literally sat in my car in the hot dallas sun for an hour reading the lyrics and listening to the music. Different and little heavier on some songs but i love it... tiny cities made of ashes, i came as a rat
