[MMouse]: Bad TV & Tommy G
Can anyone tell me how Solid Gold lasted so long? They couldn't even get the actual artists in to sing their songs, so Marylin McCoo and some other buttmunch would try to sing hit songs like "Beat It" as a duet. Then there were the comic stylings of the puppet, Madame. SO strange that you mentioned those two things in one paragraph! My husband, Sean, lived with his mom in Vegas, and they rented a house that was originally rented out to performers for the Desert Inn while they were in town. Each room had sort of become "claimed" by each performer while they were there. Wayne Flowers, the gay guy who was the puppeteer for "Madam" had one of the rooms, and it was a horrifying orange, pink, and metallic mirror-like silver wallpaper with stripes and flowers, AND it was wallpapered on not only all four walls, but also the ceiling, AND it had matching floor-length curtains. Whew! My husband will remember that room until the day he dies. Also, Sean again, said he was CRUSHED the day he figured out that Solid Gold was lip-syncing (do you all remember that crushing blow when you were a child? What an upsetting discovery!) when Thomas Dolby performed "Hyperactive" (awesome song), and during the horn solo, he played the trombone with his NOSE. HAHAHA What a slap in the face to Solid Gold! I'll bet he didn't rehearse it that way!! Tommy go get a fish feeder chunk from any pet store. It's a big ass blob of fish food that releases small bits of fish food for up to seven days (check the package). When you get home, just scoop the remainder out. NEW DISCUSSION: I'm turning thirty next weekend, and I'm curious if I'm one of the elders in this group. If so, I'd like to change my name to HipIndieMama or maybe even XHotEmoGrannyX. When I read the post of the four-year-old who danced in her tutu to Don Henley's "All She Wants to do is Dance" I *shivered*. I was in high school grinding to that stupid song! Stace
[MMouse]: P.S. We got it MAID
We got it MAID: The Maid was Ann Jillian. White blonde hair, too much make-up. Suffered from -and beat- breast cancer in the 90's. You can probably still catch her on a quality TNT movie or paid advertisement at two a.m Stace (with the theme song of "What's Happening!" in her head-- talk about great instrumental!! The dorky bouncing-ball sound effect! Ye!)
[MMouse]: At The Drive In, etc.
1. Do these guys have an official web page? Are lyrics posted anywhere? 2. Any word on other tour cities? Next full-length CD release? 3. Check Napster: "Mapledaisy" for mp3's of At The Drive In and my cousins, who have played with them multiple times: Closed Caption Radio. My Napster is almost always running (cable). (It's nearly impossible to search for At The Drive In - it only sees the word Drive) 4. New VAST out Sept. 12 - anyone excited besides me? 5. Going to Chicago this weekend- staying downtown @ the Fairmont. Any suggestions for places I should check out? Anyone got a good Chicago show listing link? Off to have some Domino's~ Stace
[MMouse]: Juno Show
WOW Juno was just SO amazing - even better (and louder) than their CD. They mentioned that they took a break for four months. Arlie (lead singer) says they are going back into the studio this fall, should be done by X-mas, should be released by Feb. Heard four new awesome songs. He was VERY nice and funny!! They claimed their good friend was "standing in" in bass... H. SO SORRY I missed Welcome - didn't read your post in time :o( If you get a chance to see juno live, GO. Stace to whoever ask about juno, i'm assuming you're refering to the croc show, don't know much about them, except that they are supposed to give "passionate" performances, but make sure to get there early enough for the opening band, welcome, one of the best bands in seattle right now. really.
[MMouse]: STICKERS
Fucking Christ, kids, the boy made stickers with his own cash, paid postage himself, and sent them first come, first serve. I'd hate to see some of you in a soup line. Jesus! Get a picture, go to Kinko's. Highly recommend Atombombpocketknife, if you can find it. They're getting pretty heavy rotation on 3wk.com (the best internet radio station EVER). Seeing Juno Saturday night... anyone know how they are live? Stace
[MMouse]: CRIPES! Atombombpocketknife
Desperately searching for any Atombombpocketknife mp3's. Please lemme know if you have any! Thanks, Stace

[MMouse]: Randy Describes Eternity Lyrics
Big fat sloppy kiss for the lyrics to Randy Describes Eternity by BTS. xo
[MMouse]: Epic
Spoke to Jeremiah tonight... the Epic thing is true, and they are happy about it. He said they've been talking to Epic for a while now. More on both Seattle shows tomorrow... too tired now! *Stace
[MMouse]: Isaac
I heard that Isaac's solo work will be under the psuedo Ugly Cassanova. Looking forward to the Seattle shows, but can a Vanc tell me when BTS and MM will be up there as well? Starfish Room maybe? Throw me a bone~ Stace
[MMouse]: Guilty Pleasures
I find it so wonderful that we are all coming out of the cheesy closet and proclaiming our true roots in music. In the eighties you would never hear me admit that I had Captain and Tenille's Greatest Hits on cassette, as I was blaring "Love will keep us together" while delivering pizzas in Las Vegas. Steely Dan's Decade CD is in heavy rotation in our home any time that it rains. Hall & Oates "Sarah Smile" is one of the best. Adam & the Ants is required for housecleaning. "Eyes of a Stranger" by the Payolas STILL turns me on. Now that I'm older, I can accept that I love these songs without worry. A tradition happens every Christmas eve at my uncle's house. He breaks out the albums, we move the furniture, and dance. Albums include Barry Manilow, Captain & Tenille, the Grease soundtrack, and Tom Jones. One of my favorite visions is my whole family boogeying to "Kiss" by Tom Jones. Including Grandpa. Another fantastic memory is my friend Greg in high school, with purple hair, singing along to all of the words to "Muskrat Love". Can you imagine what our children will be embarassed to admit that they listened to? Time will only tell. *Stace

[MMouse]: Vancouver again
Isaac was pretty drunk Friday... he did mention recording then scrapping. He also mentioned never playing Seattle again because last time they did, he got shot. I said "You got shot at the Re-Bar?" (which was their last show in Seattle) then he said "No I was just joking". Isaac plays with an experimental band called ICU at the 700 Club in Seattle tonight. Pray he doesn't get shitfaced again. I also am now the proud owner of their ugly orange buffalo T-shirt, which prompted me to tell Jeremiah that there is a big need for more T-shirts from them. This seemed to confuse him... he ran his hands through his hair and said Ohh uhhh uhh-huhh. Always a pleasure seeing those boys. Stace
