You're totally right, I forgot both those (but have them both...0. The
Project Echo is "Duke's Up" from the Blue Cadet Three 7", the yoyo comp is
a bad live version of that bad song Dirty Fingernails.

That show was awful, I know, i was there..

Re: [MMouse]: Fruit That Ate Itself

1999-02-10 Thread capsize alcatraz

I don't understand the Hoopla as well, I would say that I see TFTAI more
than any other Modest Mouse release, both on vinyl and on CD in just about
every record store as well. For those who don't know, here's a quick
discography off the top of my head in order of released (I think).

Blude Cadet 3, Do You Connect? 7" (K Records, also on Japanese Fruit
that ate itself CD)

Broke b/w Whenever I breathe out you breathe in 7"

This is a long drive for someone with nothing to think about CD/Double LP
(The LP is the "real" version of the album, with the songs Edit
the sad parts and A Manic Depressive named Laughing Boy)

A Life of Arctic Sounds b/w Medication 7" (Suicide Squeeze records)

Interstate 8 CD (Up Records)

The Fruit that Ate itself CD/LP (K Records)

Birds Vs. Worms 7" (Hit or Miss Records, 500 copies, hand printed/numbered
sleeves)

The Lonesome Crowded West CD/Double LP (Double LP has bonus track Baby
Blue Sedan)

Other People's Lives b/w Grey Ice Water 7" (Up Records)

Never Ending Math Equation b/w Working on Leaving The Living 7"
(Sub Pop Singles Club, pressing of 1500 [i think])

Whenever You See Fit 12" single (with 764-HERO, both bands doing one long
long song with two remixes on the B side)

Compilation Appearances (that I know of)

"Mice Eat Cheese" on the Magic Eye Singles Collection
"Dramamine" on Up Reocrds #000 promo only 7 inch
"Heart Cooks Brain" on the Up In Orbit CD compilation
"Buttons to Push the Buttons" on the Zum Audio Volume 2 compilation

Isaac also appears on another Magic Eye Singles 7" with friends as Ugly
Cassnova, their song is called "To Roads to Go, To Roads to go" (the
single is on white vinyl, sleeve printed on the back of a cereal box,
pressing of 500)

phew.if anyone else knows anything else, let me know.

Oh, and PS: I have all of these 8*)

Re: [MMouse]: Yo-Yo Compilation

I'm sure you can get them at any indie-ish record store (Amoeba in San
Francisco and Berkeley I know has them), or else I'm sure the K
Records mailorder has them, and you can probably order it direct from
Yo-yo recordings.

Yo-Yo Recordings
PO Box 2462
Olympia, WA 98507

Also, I'd check online music sites to find it. And you must all promise
me to adore the Mountain Goats song.

ciao.

Best album to come out in a long long time if you ask me, I was so
hooked (and, quite frankly, still am) on it. And, as far as I know, it is
the most recent album.

Just letting you guys know that the new 1997 Yo-yo-a-go-go compilation CD
is out now...such memories listening to it on the drive home tonight.

sigh.

Anyways, they were dumb and put Modest Mouse's "Dirty Fingernails" on
it...I've already talked about how much that song makes me cringe. It
also features Built to Spill, Elliot Smith, the Mountain Goats (perfect
song), Sleater Kinney, KARP, The Need, Kirihitoetc etc etc.

good stuff.

yum.

I, personally, think they're boring (at least live, I haven't
heard the record.), and don't really like them too much. However,
alot of people around here (San Francisco) are really into them, and some
of my friends in Texas like them a bunch too, so I'd check it out.

Just skip the live shows.

Everyone knows about this band, their first album on Matador, "Telefono",
is great.

I found "A Series of Sneaks" in the bargain bin, and it's pretty bad
comparatively. I listened to it once and now it's collecting dust.

Plus, everyone in Austin hates 'em. 8*)
