Hey all
I just saw red stars theory play in San francisco last night.
Jeremy is an awesome drummer. He drums a really instense, hard and on
time beat and then spins his stick in his hand we it's over - i love it.
The Yoshi dude from Senic Vermont/Asiler's Set was there because
Aliser's Set and 764-hero also played. Yoshi played with Modest MOuse in
San Francisco in May. James bertram is singing with 764 now. Well,
jeremy just played an awesome show - that's all.rys

about covering our asses legally, i think we should get the mouse's
permission. that should be all we need. i can't wait to hear issac's
album!does anyone have any motel no tell they can tape for me.
also, i think we should make a few master copies and tape from those so
quaility is comprimised to much. i'm a big fan of the highest possible
lo-fi quality you can get - did that make sense?anyhoo

we need

okay, this might seem like a completely stupid/pointless idea to some of
you...but i was wondering if anyone would be interested in putting
together a
modest mouse "tribute" tape of sorts...i know there are a lotta
musicians on
this list, so i was thinking that people could record themselves doing
mm
songs, and then send them to me to mix onto a tape. then i could copy
and
send the tapes to anybody who wants one...i think it would be purty
interestin
if enough people wanna make the effort...

good idea!

[MMouse]: GAY!

1999-01-03 Thread jayne 666

Okay fuckin knock it off. I am bisexual myself and when I first read
that person's question, I was like, "Hey, I don't like that use of the
word 'gay' there." But then I remembered that I am still working on
trying not to use it as adjective myself. I sometimes describe things
as 'gay' , mainly because I use a lot of slang and don't pay attention
to what I'am saying sometimes, but that's not the point. Do you see what
I'm saying? Because our generation grew up and heard the word 'gay' to
decribe things that are lame or stupid, we use that word too sometimes
WITHOUT THINKING. That's no excuse for using it, but at least it
explains it. That person probably didn't mean any harm, they were just
using slang. I mean, that dude that said it has been warned, so lets
just drop it now.

[MMouse]: Indie Compilation

1998-12-11 Thread jayne 666

Hello all of you!
This is Rhyssa with Dead Turtle Recordings. I just wanted to remind
everyone of the upcoming ASTEROIDS compilation. It will feature: the
Microphones, Nar, Bananas, Modest Mouse, M. Hustler, Bugbite, Mail Order
Brides, Modest Mouse, Figurine, Lazy Ike, Clockwork Jamal, Beauty
Pageant, the Need, Tippy, Sarah Dougher, Blue Gill, Bright Ideas and
much much more way cool indie bands.
It will be out in Janurary and will be accompained by a zine a page in
it for each band, most of which were made by the bands themselves.
It will be cheap, like $4 or something. Maybe five with postage but
maybe just four. I want to make it affordable because I think these
bands are good and I want to help promote them. If you know of folks
who like to distribute or you yourself would like some extra copies to
sell, we can work out deals. Well, I guess that's it. I'll let you all
know when it comes out.
Thanks again.
