[MMouse]: modest mouse website
What happened to the Modest Mouse web site by epic, the one that had the thing about edgar grahms and ugly cassanova? I saw it once a few weeks ago but it isn't working anymore. Does anyone have the text of that back story they gave?
[MMouse]: In heaven, everthing is fine
I think the line comes from a much older song. The version you describe the Pixies doing is the same one that one of the characters in David Lynch's Earserhead sings. >the crew? Also I was just very curious if anyone knew >any info about Workin' on Leavin' the Livin'. Does >Modest Mouse ever give any credit to the Pixies for >sing the line "In heaven, everything is fine. In >heaven, every things alright."? The Pixies song, I >believe entitle Heaven simply repeats that line over >and over with the only other line "you get yours and >I'll get mine." Just curious seeing as how there is no >doubt that Modest Mouse are giant Pixies fans.
Re: [MMouse]: Re: self-censorship
Why is this such a hard thing for you to accept, you were the one who wanted people to stop saying things on the list that offend other people. I'm deeply offeneded by this notion. The least you could do is apologize. grrr wrote: > does anyone else here think arash needs an education, or maybe just some > exposure to sunlight? > > oh dear dear arash, perhaps you are not familiar with all of the other > synonyms for penis perpetuated by society. try a thesaurus. for god's > sake. > > if you are truly being honest, i'm not going to bother with any further > remarks because there won't be any point in it. > > without dropping to lower IQs, > natalie > > On Thu, 21 Oct 1999 [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > > What kind of a person are you? What kind of a person are you? Who gives nicknames to penises? That's really sick, why would you ever bring something like this into this list. I don't mean to censor you, but I think this is a common sense sort of issue... deeply offended, Arash > > > surely you must be kidding. i'm not talking about dick the name. i'm > talking about dick as an alternate to penis. > > natalie > i just want to dance in your tangles. > -nmh >

Dick is a perfectly suitable nickname for anyone named Richard. The eminent physicist Richard Feynman was refered to as Dick by many of his closest colleagues and friends. Should we deny Feynman his nickname, one that he felt so comfortable with, because you find it offensive. Surely your joking. Arash
[MMouse]: The Fruit That Ate Itself
I got the _The Fruit That Ate Itself_ EP a few days ago and I was wondering if this was the actual title of the EP since it doesn't say it anywhere on the album. Was it originally untitled and then just became known as _The Fruit Ate Itself_?
[MMouse]: Middle East 10/29 / MM in Boston
So is the Oliva Tremor Control playing upstairs or downstairs? Does anyone know what time the Swirlies are opening up for Marine Research? I'd like to catch their set to if possible. Does anyone know where you can get Modest Mouse EPs/7 inches in the Boston/Cambrige area. They use to have a lot of their stuff at Newbury Comics but everytime I go now the mouse section is empty.
[MMouse]: Oliva Tremor Control
Oliva Tremor Control is playing the Middle East on the 29th for anybody who's wondering. Does anyone know who's opening for them? From this list it seems like Modest Mouse has a decent following in Boston, have they ever played a show out here?
