This was my first time seeing Modest Mouse and it was fucking
amazing. It was sold out and seemed to last over two hours.
The setlist is as follows and is *not* in order, except for the
encore which is right on. I'm literally going through the Modest Mouse
discography and typing out the songs they played as I see them;
Broke
Whenever I Breathe Out (Positive/Negative)
Dramamine
Breakthrough
Custom Concern
All Night Diner
Doin' The Cockroach
Trailer Trash
Trucker's Atlas
Polar Opposites
Neverending Math Equation
3rd Planet
A Different City
Alone Down There
Paper Thin Walls
What People Are Made Of
Encore (this is in accurate order):
Grey Ice Water
Cowboy Dan (extended version)
Tundra/Desert
Although I have no other Modest Mouse shows to compare this to, it
seemed great to me. The sound was off for the first quarter of the show
(the volume was oddly low), but everything got smoothed out fine. The band
seemed in high spirits. Etc. Very fun.
As I was walking out the door, I saw a girl that looked familiar, and
I asked her if she was on the Hot Modest Mouse Girls page. She laughed,
said she was, her friend said "you're famous!" I just checked out the page
and it turned out to be Barbie. Wasn't expecting that. Barbie, if you're
reading this, sorry if I caused an awkward moment! I couldn't stop myself
from asking.
A more detailed account is likely on its way. I'm tired and there's
really not much more to say about it except that I had a fantastic time.
