can i share my maine experience? i went to the island of vinalhaven, off the coast of maine,near freeport i think...it was a 2 hr ferry ride there...spent a really cold march weekend with a grrlfren at the timeit snowed on sunday and we were stranded for another day, missed work, but had a great excusemissed the ferry, oh well really nice place, all things considered lost in the supermarket, mattboyslim

to anyone who was remotely inspired by the lyrics in 'novocaine stain' see: the geography of nowhere by...some guy ;) that "some guy" is James Howard Kunstler. this book is essential reading, and i've thought about it many times when listening to isaac's words. from the back of the book: "...traces America's evolution from a nation of Main Streets and coherent communities to a land where every place is like no place in particular, where the cities are dead zones and the countryside is a wasteland of cartoon architecture and parking lots." jason.
